this is crystal's fella. HUGE HAMMER!!!

I have to agree with gooner300 regarding the argies.we have lost any shape we had by bringing in 2 players from totally different leagues.Ashton being injured has left a huge hole up front.Zamora has been the star of the season so far but when ashton returns then its the bench for zamora again.Harewood is far too inconsistent.he has the talent to score goals but only if he is given the opportunity.i dont consider him a good play maker.Roy Caroll has not shown us anything to be be positive about.he has let some sloppy goals in and that can effect the shape of the defence.signing the 2 argies reminds me of when Harry Redknapp went shopping abroad and bought the biggest load of rubbish ever at discount prices.that started the rot which we only really recovered from 2 seasons ago.i rate pardew as an excellant manager and have complete faith in him for what he has done for the club i love.thankfully its early days and they will gel as a unit in the next few games.the club will do better if there were some funds left to strengthen the side but we shall keep our spirits high and keep cheering the mighty hammers on week after week no matter what.

You've got it wrong moosh, spurs and arsenal were higher in the league, and they played better football that the hammers, although the hammers were a good stylish football team.
They seem to have done worse since these two argentinians joined, maybe they need time to gell. Its still early in the season, give them time, they may not have the same hunger as last season being they were new to the prem then.
Play up POMPEY !!!

Pardew had a disciplined side where everyone had a role and knew what to do.
Tevez is a free spirited player and to tie him down to a certain role is to negate his talent.
Pardew therefore has to integrate Tevez's free role into a disciplined set up, which is obviously taking time.
The defence has not been as good as last year with Ferdinand being caught napping and Gabbidon giving below par performances.
They are still all good players, just need to gel as a team

Sometimes having big-name players - especially from a different footballing culture - join the club, especially after the pre-season period when the team gels, can result in a temporary loss of form.

Do you remember when Newcastle started the league with 10 straight wins, then Keegan bought in Tino Asprilla from Columbia via Italy? It all fell apart horribly, even though he was a skilful player, because the rest of the team didn't adjust properly to playing with him.

Mainly is all the communtion surrounding the signings of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano. Their arrival to the club have somewhat affect the mood in the dressing room as well as the style of play they enjoyed last season with success.

The league doesn't lie.

Arsenal finished 4th Spurs finished 5th West Ham finished 9th West Ham lost more games than either, West ham conceded more scored less.

On what basis were they better?

this happens to teams who have done well previous seasons. wigan is also another example.the expectations from the fans have risen and the players, the manager and the staff all feel compelled to match previous efforts. the best thing is that everyone at the club enjoy their football again and the results will come automatically.

Players play at their worst when they are nervous - they have alot of pressure put on them. They could also be having hassle off the manager - or they could be having a few to many late nights. Could be anything.
