As a police officer in the US you can carry accross state lines

This varies from state to state. Most states allow an officer to carry his gun anywhere inside the state on or off duty. There are alot of states that do not recognize officers rights to carry from another state. New York for instance.

From what I can guess of American law, if you have a license to carry a gun - that means you can take it everywhere guns carried by the public are legal.

For instance, in the White House you'll have it taken off you but if you go over state lines to WalMart you still can have your gun.

It depends if the Chief of Police has a concealed weapon permit. The political climate on the 2nd amendment would have a lot of authority in the legality of concealed weapons, particularly handguns.

According to HR218 an officer from one state can carry in any other state
