Obviously that is a trick question. Scarface and Godfather 1 and 2 are equally amazing.

Al Pacino was great in both 'Godfather trilogy and 'Scarface'

the 'Godfather' romanticise organise crime i.e. family honour, respect' the brotherhood and the honour among thieves ethos. very compelling ideas to any youngster growing up with these films. the actors were great the plot was beautifully written. it would be near impossible to knock it. even the killings were a direct response to breaking the rules, which seem to justified them.

Yet, 'Scarface' was raw savagery, pure violence, get to the top by any means possible and the only respect you got was from the business end of a double barrel shotgun. no mercy shown and none given. power, money and greed was the only ethos. the 'Godfather' with all the frills taken away.

'Scarface' get my vote. for giving a more realistic view on crime.
even the character 'tony montana' played by Al Pacino will have you riveted to your chair for the only obvious conclusion of the film. but the 'Godfather' is a very close second for nostalgia and superb acting
