There are no bars in Dubai as it is a dry country. You can have alcohol inside hotel bars only, they are secular and are not bound by the restrictions of Ramadam, so you should be able to listen to music and have alcohol but only in hotels.

its generally true...but in dubai get in a taxi and go to irish village....thats where all the university kids go to drink, be social, and listen to some live music....since most of the populous of irish village is international, they tend to get away with more than the average public...

on a little side note....technically you need a drinking license to drink alcohol over there, so if you get wasted don't stumble home...just take a cab....they are super cheap anyways

The hotels will still have entertainment and music, i went for the millenium during ramadan and although i kinda wished we'd of waited til it was over it didn't affect us too much.....you can still drink alcohol etc but only in the more touristy places

Well most of the bars will be closed, If you really wanna get yourself a drink or a gal just go to any hotel and all the bars will be open. But mind you don't get drunk and go strolling on the streets or you will be in one heck of deep trouble.
