The age difference isn't enough to matter at all where love is. The real problem seems to be that your family is not for you marrying this lady. You don't say how old you are, but in any case, I think it is a good idea to listen to what your family says, and get to understand their reasons of why they don't like her, and then consider all they say. Your family knows you very well, and may see important things that you are missing. I'm sure they don't want you to make a mistake, but it is still your decision in what you choose to do. If you love her, that is great, and love will wait while you think more on what you want to do, and when. Timing is important also, so maybe give it some more time, and see what develops. Life and marriage will be a lot less stressful if there is peace among all of you, and I hope that happens.

Yes. Age doesn't matter as long as you love each other and when you're married just give each other his or her own rights in your married life. Even if she is older than you, you would still be the head of the family. I know some married couples where the woman is older than the man not only 2 years but more than and their married life is getting stronger. Go and marry her.

Why should it matter what your family thinks? Oh, because they have been there for you for your whole life. How well do they know this woman? What is it they dislike? Generally, age isn't or shouldn't be an issue! There must be something else to this.

I'm married to a man that is older than me. My family did not like it but you know what? I didn't let that stop me. We've been married for 6 years and have 2 beautiful little boys. Our marriage isn't perfect, but who's is? My point being, is if you are happy and you know she's the one for you don't let anyone stop you! If I had let my families opinion effect my decision, I would have never had my little boys and would have lost the best thing that has ever happened to me! Hang in there!

Two years is not that big of a difference. My grandfather was actually two years younger than my grandmother. Besides, women have a longer life expectancy than men. You should explore the reasons that your family dislikes her. If it is something other than age, perhaps lifestyle, religion, values, etc. If you really don't have any issues with any of those things, then you should go ahead with your plans to marry her. Best wishes.

Have you asked your family why they dislike her? Perhaps they see something about her, that you may not readily see because you love her. My cousin went through this 3x's. If your family's concerns could be valid, give it a serious second thought b4 u get married. But as far as age is concerned, what's 2 years? not much, good luck.

Two years is not a problem, unless you are under the legal age. I dont understand unless you are a kid than why ask your parents?? I dont think two years is a bad age gap at any age. However if some is asking this question and concerned about family, shows the not readiness of being married.
Good Luck and God Bless you.

Firstly , what did your lady do to make your family dislike her ?
Another thing is once you think that the lady is suitable for you , regardless of age gap , just marry her . but firstly , you must create more chances for your lady to get closer to your family in order to accept her ( Maybe they do not know your lady well , that's why they have this reaction ? )

think about why they dislike her. If you do not know, then ask them. Is your family's reason valid? Then you need to find out why you really love her. A few years difference does not matter. What does matter is knowing if and why you love each other.

I don't think age will be the problem between both of you. If you really loved her then explain to your family that and then marry her.Good luck ^^
