Yes, Steve Nash has a chance. With Stoudamire back, that will free up other players for even more looks from Nash, who is one of the most responsible passers in the NBA. Having a better inside presence will also free up the middle some for when Amare steps out of the paint, since he has a respectable mid-range jumper. That should give Nash more penatration room to drive to the hoop or hit Raja Bell or whoever on the wing.
I believe this year's MVP, however, will go to Dirk Nowistki, because he's the most complete player in the NBA, even over Lebron James. He's a better shooter than both James and Wade, and the deadliest player in the game right now.
If James can bring Cleveland to the playoffs, and get far enough, he has a great shot at his first MVP, though.

The only players to ever win the MVP 3 years in a row are Larry Bird and Bill Russell. Now Nash is a very good player and he "maybe" deserved those last two but I don't see it this year. LeBron is making history with every passing season. He was one of 3 players to average 30+ points, 6+ assists, and 7+ boards. a night. There ain't no telling what he might do. and I think he should have won it last year especially if you saw the playoffs. Plus Nash has Shawn Marion, who was also in the MVP race. Bron had no one.

It would be an incredible accomplishment for Nash, but it certainly won't be easy... but he could do it. If the Suns can stay healthy and pile up a great record, that would enhance his chances.
If he did win his third in a row, he would join Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, and Larry Bird as the only players to win the MVP award in 3 consecutive years.
Jordan never won 3 in a row: his five MVPs were won in '88, '91, '92, '96 and '98. Jordan was competing directly with Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley and Karl Malone..
1998Michael Jordan
1997Karl Malone
1996Michael Jordan
1995David Robinson (Jordan retired)
1994Hakeem Olajuwon (Jordan retired)
1993Charles Barkley
1992Michael Jordan
1991Michael Jordan
1990Magic Johnson
1989Magic Johnson
1988Michael Jordan (first MVP)
Jordan's decision to retire (the first time) could very well have cost him a chance at 3 straight MVPs, as he did end up winning in his first full year back in the NBA (1996).
The Suns will be a fun team to watch this coming season!

I love Steve Nash, but unless Phoenix wins the championship I don't think he has much of a chance. Larry Bird is the only other player I can remember that has done it three times in a row. LeBron James will probably take it this year.

no,jordan didn't win seasonal mvp 3 years in a row. larry bird did. from 1984 to 1986.
nash has a good chance of winning it again this year. since amare is back, phoenix will have inside presence that they missed last year. and inside presence will only do good for the shooters outside. if phoenix can keep their uptempo offensive style and be one of the top teams, with nash as their leader, nash will be an mvp contender again this coming season.

Nash can definitely three-peat, but let's not forget about Chauncey B. He was in the running last season and will be back in there this season. Go Pistons!

im a nash fan, i think that dallas shouldnt have let him go. but i dont think that he will get it for a third time, not even with amare back. i think wade is gonna get it this year. i would love to see nowitzki get it. with the way lebron played last year getting cleveland to the second round he has a shot too. i just dont think nash can hang with the competition this year

Only if they get the best record in the NBA. He has already set a standard that is so high that it will be hard to surpass. If Lebron's Cavs can get a better record than last year then I think he will be the MVP

I dont think so, with amare back and everyone else healthy .He will have alot of sopport and with other mvp contenders not having as much support as steve has ,it is almost impossible for 3 in a row.

He has a definite chance. But if Amare comes back and has a good year, they will say he didn't do it by himself, which he didn't the last two years, he had Shawn Marion. I think he has a good shot but I like the Matrix better. Go Suns!
