i just want to get a divorce w/o having to pay anything since we have nothing together anymore, the boys are grown, and i dont even know where he is or has been for 13yrs. now. i want to run an ad in the newspaper and get a divorce. can anyone tell me how?

I am not sure about Texas but I think you can go to your court house to file the paper after which you can put notice in the paper if with in 3 months he does not answer nor file to stop you than you are divorce
anyway why don't you check with the registar office to see if he is dead that is possible if you have his SS#

Sorry in order to get a divorce you have to pay for it and you have to serve him with papers which he has to sign it doesn't matter how long he wasn't living with you, and if there was no legal seperation it will take even longer because a separation agreement might have to be drawn up first. Why didn't you file years ago?

If I am not mistaken, u must know where he is at so you can run
a ad in the local newspaper, providing the divorce would be uncontested, believe me... 13 yrs should not b a problem.good luck.

yes you can file for divorce if its not amicable file for it reason being abandonment and the court costs are all his. If it is amicable then you can usually go to your county website and download docs. fill them out and only pay filing fees and perhaps split the cost 50-50
