We all love 'em, and we really want to meet 'em. But when we do meet them, what are we supposed to say? Just blandly ask for an autograph?

I've met a handful of musicians. I usually ask for an autograph & say I enjoyed their show, their last cd, etc.
I am aquaintances with a couple of singers and I just talk to them like I'd talk to my neighbor or co-worker. Not exactly as relaxed as with my best friend or spouse, but it's all light, friendly conversation.
I'd ask about their family, vacation, etc.
You DON'T want to come off as a stalker or dork! =)
That means don't go on an on about how you think they are so cute or how much you're in love with them, etc. And don't say you know "all" about them. From what I've been told, that's either annoying or it sends up a flag that you're a stalker. And they don't like it when people ask them to autograph body parts. LOL

I've never met any movie stars or politicians so I can't help you there. Musicians are usually pretty easy going, even the ones with a diva reputation.
Just have fun & keep it casual.

Personally I have met a few celebrities and I do not approach them..the same as I would act around anyone else..if we happen to make eye contact or we are involved in a light conversation I would treat it as such, if we found that we were actually finding that we wanted to talk about something then it would happen,,just the same as any other person in the world..I am not impressed so easily...they should be about as intesested in me as I am in them ...if not then I go on with my day..and so do they

if you're the type of person who makes conversation with just about anyone, you should just start a conversation the same way you would with any other stranger. they're just people like anybody else. the celebrities i know personally prefer to be treated like everyone else when they're not working or at a celebrity function.

I guess we want to learn about their personal interests in their life. How are they as a normal person, not a celebrity? Sure we'd like to have an idea about their true characteristics. And before ending it, how about asking to have your photos taken together, for souvenir?

ask them their life journey. how it's like to be a celebrity. if you are talking about idol, ask them how their idol journey has been, what do they think about the competition, do they make more friends than being competetive. but of course i'm just a kid roaming aroung asking stupid questions. that's what i would ask. oh yes. one more thing. ask them if they would like to go on a date with you. there is a high chance they will coz i tried it and it ended up being my friend who went out with the celebrity.

i have a friend who is a celebrity and he listens to my problems.
