The most dangerous sexual practice is unprotected anal sex. The rectum is not lubricated the same as a vagina and can get tiny tears very easily without them being noticed. This applies to both men and women who engage in anal sex. HIV can also be transmitted through oral and vaginal sex but not quite as readily. Many people are actually bisexual so the disease can pass from "gay" people to "straight" ones or vice versa. Homosexuals are also not immune to getting HIV from IV drug use.

Let me answer your question this way........I have a good friend who I love very much who is HIV positive. I have been very supportive in all factors and go to the DR. with him all the time. When he picks up his medicines you have to go to a seperate phamacy to get them for the sake of privacy. Last month I was with him and while he was waiting to get his pills I noticed a little girl in the same line. Knowing this line only catered to HIV/AIDS meds I mentioned to her mother how beautiful her daughter was. After a breif chat with the girls mom I learned that that same little girl has HIV. She was 4 years old. She got it from a blood transfusion as a child. She is not homosexual. Her mother didn't infect her during risky drug neddle sharing things. She just has HIV and there is nothing she can ever do about it but to find a way to LIVE. HIV sees NO color, sex, sexual taste, income level, height, weight, eye color. It can happen to ANYONE!
So instead of answering your question let me ask it differently.....how does one get HIV from........
unsafe sex
unsafe drug use
sharing neddles
blood transfusions
the list goes on and on, but don't worry. If there one answer I can truely give you is this. An HIV infected person may have to face death sooner than those around him BUT having this virus is not about death. It's about life. ENJOY the life you have and relish all the great things around you. We could all die tommorrow, YOu could get run over, I could drown in a pool...have fun while you can....TOMMORROW MAY BE TOO LATE! :)

You can get HIV from sexual contact with anyone (same sex or not) who has the virus. However, it is easier for gay men to transmit the HIV virus because this type of sexual contact is more prone to broken blood vessels. Since HIV requires contact with blood this leaves gay men more susceptible to the virus than straight men or women. F.Y.I.condoms do not do much good in protecting you from the HIV virus because the virus is much smaller than the tiny microscopic holes in the latex fiber. It is like throwing ping pong balls at a volleyball net and hoping none go through.

You don't get HIV from being homosexual. You get HIV by allowing infected blood to mix with yours. Gays are a high risk group because of the type of sex engaged in, the increased promiscuity, and a higher propensity for unprotected sex.

Unsafe sex, heterosexual or "otherwise" can be a factor in contracting HIV. Usually one person is the "carrier" and may not even know "he" has HIV. Unless you are tested regularly, there's always a possibility that the virus is present.(pending your sexual "activeness")
HIV is spread through contact with body fluids like saliva or semen. If it "gets into" an open sore in your body, it can gain access to your blood stream, where it attacks the blood cells and weakens them so they can't fight infections in your body.

One doesn't get HIV from 'homosexuality.' HIV is an STD (sexually transmitted disease). Anyone can give it to anyone--it doesn't matter if one is homosexual, heterosexual, bi-sexual, tri-sexual, bovine-sexual, or bovidae-sexual. The best place to learn about the transmit-ability of HIV is from the Center of Disease Control.

HIV is not just gay disease but is found in the straight community as well. Unprotected sex failure to use condom for anal sex, taking of semen in mouth or tainted blood. If one practices safe sex they can remain protected.

it is not contracted through "homosexuality"...it is a sexually transmitted disease that is passed through bodily fluids, regardless of whether the person is gay or straight. if someone has unprotected sex with a person who is infected with HIV, then they can contract it from them.
