I think because it shows off what they have. Its really not just emo. The growing trend has been for the american male (following after the european male, par usual) to put more time and effort into his appearance, to make himself look more kempt.
I assume there are a large number of women who like the change. Take a look at 3 months of good housekeeping and the like; I bet you will find an article or two about "how to get him to clean up himself, and around the house". Its not what every woman wants, and I assume thats why every guy isnt doing it.

all of them r thin, u wont expect them to wear oversized clothes do u, besides it seems like theyre very into jeans, i dun think anyone will wear loose n shaggy jeans if they r thin ..well only if theyre old fashioned
