Not having Pedro on the postseason is certainly a loss for New York Mets and the evergreat fans. The comment he made about himself yesterday on SNY was really heartbreaking. But, the Mets have won lots of games even when Pedro's not pitching. It may sound cruel but the key to winning games is not just Pedro. It has to be the whole team's effort. So just be positive and wish them the absolute best. LET'S GO METS!!!!!

Losing Pedro certainly evens the playing field a great deal more for the other playoff teams. As you know Glavin had his physical problems too this season but hopefully that won't be an issue. Glavin has had a very disappointing second half but the up side is that he has a great deal of playoff experience. El Duke' seems to always give 5,6,7, decent innings. Trachsel is hot and cold, you never know which Steve Trachsel is going to show up for each start. If the Mets can take the lead into the 8th or 9th, Billy Wagner should take care of business.
Right now the way the Dodgers are playing they just might be the team to beat in the National League
Let's face it, if the Mets reach the world series they will have to grab a little of that 1969 magic in order to win.

so el duque replaces pedro in the line up, that's fine. thats still a tough pitching staff, with an excellent offense coming from beltran and the likes. the padres cant hold a candle against these guys, neither do the cardinals. I'm thinking the red birds won't even make it to the post season. so the biggest problem you'd have to worry about are either the dodgers or the astros. when it comes down to post season play, the astros pitching staff has more pitching depth, not to mention the best defense in the league. doesn't matter how far wright and beltran can go with the ball, astros are taking the nlcs from them

Yesterday I might have said yes but with Hernandez hurt now, it's even money that they won't get past the Dodgers. The Dodgers are hot right now so this first game tonight will tell us a lot about where the Mets are.

Yes they have a problem, Pedro needs to get back to his ace form fast, but I think Glavin will be the starter this post season.

The Mets are still the favorites because the NL is so weak this year. Whoever wins the AL should beat them.

I think that the Dodgers or the Astros will take the Mets in the NLDS.
