My mileage is digital, not like the old ones that look like all you have to do is roll back the numbers with your finger, is there a cable or something that can be disconnected, and reconnected temporarily, without it being noticed by any mechanic? It's on a 2006 chrysler 300.

YES!!! In my car, if you disconnected the "speed sensor", it turns off your odometer and ur speedometer but it stops your miles from going up. it is usually on the left of your transmission and it is just a small plug in cable that you release out. very easy and for any more. ask and i'll tell ya! jesse

I doubt it. I suspect Chrysler anticipated cheats like you and designed the sytem so the mileage is programmed into a PROM or E-PROM chip everytime the car is shut off or turned on. Sorry, Charlie...
