To add to what the one guy said, some mounted on streetlights or poles do have the ability to measure excessive speed and take a picture of the offender to ticket them. However, try this scenario. If the officer clocked you at 20 over next to another vehicle at 22 over, on one doing 19 over, there's a problem. At that instant you and the other driver traveled through the range of the device, it is going to get confused as to whom to calculate for the offense. So, the officer will let it "ride" because objective evidence doesn't exist (the device's printout).

It depends on wich ones you are talking about. They do have radars with cameras in some states, mostly on the freeway. But if you are talking about the ones that tell you your speed, they are merly keeping track of all the speeds they see. The cops use them as tools to where they need to set up and write tickets, or increase the limit.

Radar is radar and cameras are cameras. One is not part of the other although both pieces of equipment can be used concurrently. Ordinary cameras do not measure speed.

Speed radars can take photos and they are mobile.Speed cameras are fixed. Both are almost the same in function.Within two weeks Uncle Sam will sent you an invitation card if he shot at you. What you need how is to drive within your road and or vehicle limit.Nowadays they station on ,under and beside bridges.Worst we had bridges across expressway ,AYE ,CTE,TPE,PIE .....you name it they are there. So don't speed ,unless you want to be their pay master.

sometimes they do. If I was you, I'd consider putting aluminum foil on your wheel rims and cover them up with the hubcabs. I heard it messes up radars.
