I lost all my photos and music. I was doing what the help desk told me too, and they assured me I wouldn't lose my stuff, well . . . . wrong, I lost it all. I have heard that it is still on here but how do I retrieve all my music and photos? Thanks for any help, this included my historical family photos.

I forgot to mention that my ipod music was erased too (long story, I tired to sync and it erased). So as it is now, somewhere on my computer hard drive is ALL of my music - a lot of it, but how to find it, get it and reloaded back into itunes so that I can then sync and have it all back on my ipod? Thanks for any and all help.

You can use iDUMP, a software that allows you to transfer your songs of your iPod to a PC. Connect your iPod and run iDump and you'll have access to all your songs, select the songs you want to transfer then pick a destination directory and how you would like your songs to be named. And then sit back and transfer all the selected songs to the PC. After that you can already add them in your music library in iTunes. It is easy to use. =)

The good news is iDump is FREE! Here is the link where you can download the software.

Yes. It is a common problem and I wish apple would provide this in iTunes itself -- they don't because they are concerned that it would facilitate music pirating.

In any case, you can use iPodRip - http://www.thelittleappfactory.com/application.php?app=iPodRip

You can use it up to 10 times before you must purchase a license. This enables you to rebuilt your itunes library at no cost.

good luck
