Mental peace is obtained when you are happy with yourself and you have released yourself from any troubling problems that may be triggering negativity.

Think of what may be causing you to be unhappy about yourself and what is happening in your daily life. You might be going through some tough changes in your life that you arent happy with. Change something about, add a routine, and try to stay focus on the right path.

See whats troubling you and figure out how to fix it ...

To attain real mental peace their are 10 ways and u will never have to ask this q? really take it seriouslly:

1. Do not interfere in others' business unless asked
2. Forget and forgive.
3. Do not crave for recognition.
4. Do not be jealous
5. Change yourself according to the environment
6. Endure what cannot be cured
7. Do not bite more than you can chew
8. Meditate regularly
9. Never leave the mind vacant
10. Do not procrastinate and never regret

Difficult to fallow but, this is the only Way out....

Look at the answers. These are all correct .Why ..? Bcoz these ways are beeing followed by the people and they are getting results.

Now you have to evolve your own perception of peace.

Expectations from others, ones own incompetency to accomplish a task, being overambitious are some of the obstacles in the way of mental peace.

Take a leave from them.

Develope some skills to reduce the stress.

Do some research about other religions.

Appreciate others whenever you feel like.

Enjoy your work no matter how distateful it is.

Always find some one to help.

Dont hesitate to take help from others also to develope a bondage.

Try to develope your own way to get mental peace which suits you.

Simple solution.......,
A human being is always agitated because he is attached to his wants,his dreams,his ego,etc.If u obsereve properly then u will find that once ur need is fulfilled,u no more find pleasure from that thing.(For eg.,if u eat a piece of sweet,u become happy.but when u eat one more, u dont get the same satisfaction.and ur demand decreases as u eat more and more.a time comes when u say its enough.if happiness was in eating dat particular type of sweet then y u say that its enough).Hence one has to understand this thing and whenever one starts craving for anything he should practise detachment.Its not easy,but its not impossible too.Go for 10 days Vipassana meditation course at Igatpuri,Nasik,India.Or Go to any yoga institute in India and stay there for a month.U will be shocked to c that u will be able to practise detachment as u never did before.U will also understand that the ultimate happiness lies in practising detachment.There is ur peace of mind.Mangal Ho.

First of all, get a small note book and every day write down 10 things that you like about yourself. Each day when you wake up tell yourself that you are a great person who can handle any situation that comes up.

Clear everything out of your bedroom that is distracting (like a TV) and make it your personal sanctuary. Yoga is a great relaxation tool and you can get DVD routines at most bookstores. Basically make sure you take the time to pamper yourself and forgive yourself.

bring a balance in life. focus on physical, emotional, financial, social, mental aspects of the life. Everything has got its own importance. Good relationship with people, spending time with God, working on self-improvement would give mental peace. Meditation, breathing exercise(pranayama), reading inspirational books, spending some time in open air, keeping yourself busy, taking time to smile, and try not to focus on the materialistic things alone all the time you will miss the intrinsic value of the life

For peace, both your physical and spiritual needs are to catered to. You need to have the physical needs like food, shelter and security fulfilled. You have to be determined about making your livelihood, by sheer dint of hard work. Honesty and the right means to achieve your goals to meet your physical needs will pay. Greed will bring unpleasantness. Money beyond a point is evil. You need to provide a good education for your children to get the ability and courage to fend for themselves. You need not amass wealth, for your children's future.

It is important that you give equal importance to your spiritual development also. You are basically a spirit. As long as you lose sight of your spiritual goals, you will never be able to remain at peace with yourself. Besides living in peace with your self, you need to have peace with your near environs. Charity should be a part of your business. And then, your duty to maintainenance of universal peace. Violence of any kind should be eschewed at any cost. Terrorism is the scourge of the modern life. Mere pacifism will not be the right answer to senseless violence and crime against humanity. Fight against the evil, in the cause of universal peace and universal brotherhood is also a part of your effort in promoting universal peace. On top of all, spiritual endeavours cannot be complete without our daily communion with God. You need to be prayerful, which should be less dogmatic and free from bigotry. Love and affection alone should be guiding principles of our religious faith.

only way to get peace of mind is dont look at where the world is going always give ur best,
islam is the only way to attain peace, the right path follow the prophet muhammed (sas), the person who called for peace in his time and for all ages to come till the end of this world

Then you want "The Power of Now" , by Eckhart Tolle . The book or the CD box-set . I recommend the best results from the CD's .
You need to let go of whatever it is that is stressing you out . Eckhart Tolle will help you do that , easily . He puts it in simple terms and you will be at peace .
