I am so bothered by this. Do flies normally like dirt? How do I get rid of them, they get in my house whenever I open my front door. I'm swating theem constantly.

go to a big home and garden store and ask one of the workers there. they know a lot about that stuff

No, flies don't normanlly like dirt. This is a little unuual. First buy Ortho Max and spray the entire area and surrounding areas with it. Repeat as necessary until they don't come back. Make sure no one is dumping things in that area like half empy drinks, and make sure there is no trash left nearby. If you have a septic system, that may be what they are attracted to. It could be the tank or the leech lines underground.

Flys lay their eggs in decaying matter. The larva consume the decaying matter and the cycle begins again . If you find out if something is under the dirt or other Wise use bleach or ammonia on the spot and see if it keeps the flys from laying eggs there.

Must have some ripe organic food source they like in that dirt. Do animals hang out or poop there or ripe fruit on the ground there?
