whole number meaning a non zero number ,however 1 is a whole number-because it doesnot any fractional part apart from 1
however a number like 1.33345 involves a fractional part-------
33345/100000

Zero is a whole number because you don't need to write it as a fraction. No denominator is necessary.

If it's not a fraction (or irrational), it's a whole number.

Zero is not any part of a number, therefore it is whole. 1/2 is part of something, but zero is an amount of whole things.
