that is what I do... a million. locate the conversion element; which consists of a million foot = 12 inches or 7.481 gallons = a million ft^3 2. Convert the conversion element to a fragment. That fraction will continually be equivalent to one because you're putting a similar volume in the numerator into the denominator. So a million ft / 12 in = a million or 7.481 gal/ a million ft^3 = a million 3. Multiply the conversion element through what you want to remodel such that like instruments cancel one yet another out. enable's say you want to remodel one hundred ft into yards. First you want to perceive the conversion element: a million yd = 3 ft. then you quite create a fragment with the conversion element such that multiplying to the only hundred ft will cancel our the ft... 100ft * (a million yd / 3 ft) = 33.3 yd. because ft is in the numerator and denominator, they cancel one yet another and in elementary words yards stay. shall we convert 2 week into seconds.... Step a million. locate the mandatory conversion elements 1wk = 7days a million day = 24 hrs a million hr = 60 min a million min = 60 sec Step 2,3 Convert the conversion elements to a fragment such that the instruments cancel out leaving in elementary words the instruments you want for the answer (it quite is seconds) .... 2wks*(7 days/1wk)*(24 hrs/a million day)*(60 min/1hr)*(60 sec/ 1hr) observe how the instruments cancel via multiplication: the unit in the numerator has an same unit in the denominator). Now do the multiplication... 2*7*24*60*60 = a million,209,six hundred So 2 weeks is a million,209,six hundred seconds.

Two conversions needed:

mg into pounds and L into gallons

If 453.6 g = 1 lb, then 453.6 g * 1000 mg/g = 453,600 mg

(42 mg/L) / 453600 mg/lb = 0.0000925 lb/L

0.0000925 lb/L * 3.7854 L/gal = 0.0000244 lb/gal

42 mg/L)(1 g/1,000 mg)(1L/1,000 ml)(3785.4 ml/1 gal)(1lb/453.6 g)

= 42*3785.4/453,600,000 lb/gal
(the other dimension units cancel)

The answer is 0.03505 lbs/gal.
This is my solution:
[(42)(3785.4)]/[(10)(453.6)(1000)]
Just use your scientific calculator (if you have one) and it will give you this answer.
