I saw a movie a long ways back about a sometime in the future when the government makes everyone wear these things around their head that causes everyone to be equaly intelligent, but really it makes everyone idiots. And there is this one guy who is a genius and even with this thing on he can think for himself. All I remember si that it starts driving him crazy and at the end of the movie he goes on t.v and shoots himself in the head. Anybody have an idea as to which movie I'm talking about?

Harrison Bergeron, stars Sean Astin. Great movie!
P.S. It is based (somewhat loosely) on the Kurt Vonnegut short story of the same name. Recommended reading and doesn't take long either!

I didn't know it was a movie, but I think I read the short story it might be based upon. The short story was a little different, but very similar.

Until the end of the world? No, thats the one where they can record their dreams. Its good, rent it. Fantastic soundtrack.

can't quite reimber it.....they were all in a sterile city.....and no..not until the of the world that was with william hurt this guy is younger.....i know the movie but not the name when i do i'll let you know
