How does a professional coach or manager discipline his team, when the stars make thousands of times more money than he does and he may only have a one year contract. Examples are Terrell Owens and Randy Moss in the NFL, Manny Ramirez in baseball, Alan Iverson in basketball. Some players, like Alex Rodriguez, have their own personal coaching staff. Manny Ramirez makes about $18 million a year. His team mates Kevin Youkilis, Jonathan Papelbon, Jon Lester, Craig Hansen, to name a few, each earn under $400,000. How does Terry Francona get Manny to do something, like run out a ground ball, that he would expect the others to do. How can Parcells get T.O. to anything?

China is remodeling their city for the Olympics. They are forcing thousands of poor out of the city to make it look better.
In one Arabic country, camel jockeys weren't small men, they were boys...very young boys. They have recently been replaced by robots.
The NFL now has a minimum age limit to prevent high school recruiting which has happened in the NBA.
The U.S. vs the world teams have recently sucked in soccer, backetball, golf and a couple of other sports.
The Angels (MLB) changed their city name in part and tried to become the Los Angeles Angels even thought they don't play in that city.
Some council members in Los Angeles has been trying to get an NFL team even though it would mean the destruction of a couple hundred homes. The old stadium is now in the "bad" part of town according to the NFL and one of the reasons the last NFL team moved away.

I think an excellent topic would be the incredibly stupid, Rube Goldberg college football "championship" system, and how it came about. There are all kinds of angles on this, from how media markets can actually weight what teams get preferential ranking to how the whole bizarre system exists to placed the outdated bowl system.

The age limit that had in the NBA. Some Italian was the first overall pick in the NBA draft, if it weren't for the rule, Greg Oden would've been the fourth high school player to be selected number 1 overall in the NBA draft.

there is that big thing going on with reggie bush and if he should get his heisman taken away. just because his dad talked to some agent while reggie was in high school doesnt mean that reggie didnt deserve that honor. how you play has nothing to do with what other people do with their time!
