I mean, come on. I didn't tell it to destroy the house. It decided to do that on its own. It wasn't MY fault!!!

Legally those are forces of nature or act of god, not anything you have done. So even if you did tell it to destroy the house, you would not be liable.

Yes -- and you can be charged for involuntary house-slaughter.
Though it was unintentional, you're still directly responsible for the slaughter of the house.

You now have three basic options:
1) Get a damned good attorney and pray,
2) Go into hiding/ run/ change your identity, or
3) Kill off everyone who had any stakes in the house, so they can't sue you.
