I'd say right after they win, it will go really low, to make it seem like republican power has lowered the prices, then suddenly some odd out of blue engagement in the middle east that everyone will talk about for two or three weeks will happen and "bring them up" and then their little friends at exxon will start rolling in the dough.

If the democrats win, except $4 by summer...

The GOP has no direct control of the gas prices. That said they have influence over some of the issues that can raise or lower gas prices. Iran is an excellect example: Bush embraced diplomacy with Iran and the oil market lowered prices in relief that Iran's oil production isn't going to be interupted right now. Gee just in time for elections.

The major reason for lower gas prices is oil companies are finding their stockpiles of oil aren't needed as they thought they would be to compensate for oil shortages that didn't come to be. Prices will stay down for as long as this is true.

No doubt big buisness owns the GOP, always has. always will
That is why the common man eats hamburger instead of steak anytime the GOP is in power

Right. The GOP control oil and everything else, even though the high gas prices cut into state gas tax revenue- which hurts them.

If anything, the oil companies own and run the GOP, not the other way around.

Until after the election, of course.

I agree that Bush doesn't have direct connections to the oil industry. That's Cheney's job. He's the one pulling the strings with the gas prices.

Besides, Bush isn't smart enough to manipulate the economy that way. It has to be Cheney, sinply because he and Rove are the only ones with brains in that outfit. The rest are just puppets.

he's a Liberal and a Genius!!!! Presidents can and do effect expenditures via not allowing drilling particularly places. They do it on their own And with different liberals, not enable extra gasoline to be produced..

You are obviously being disingenuous or are very ignorant of the dynamics of the economy.
