My 2000 Honda Civic Dx is over heating. I've changed the thermostat and use coolant every other day. Today I've notice my car fan doesn't turn on when hot. Could this be why my car doesn't start when hot? And, what could be the cause of the fan not working? Solutions? Thanks.

turn on the AC and then see if it works, your AC pressure may be low.

Did you replace the thermostat yourself? It could be in backward. If it is then that could cause you to over heat and may also cause the fan not to come on.
If it's installed correctly the big spring end should be inserted facing the engine. If it's facing up when you take the housing apart then flip it.
Other problem could be the fan relay is bad,the fan itself is bad, or the switch to turn on the secondary fan for your Ac is bad.If you push the a AC button the fan should come on.And both of these problems will cause the problem you are having.Start with making sure you put the thermostat in correctly and then check the fan relay and so on.

Could be a blown fuse. Another problem I've had is that there is a ballast resistor in the circuit which burnt or wore out. When it was replaced, (relatively cheap) the fan started to work again. The answer about your air conditioning could be correct too, if you have a/c that is.
