Telling another man you love him is ONLY acceptable when you are completely wasted. Even then, you can only say it if you two are discussing something very sad, and your friend helps you with advice or something to make you feel better. You can also say it if your friend is just about to die, and you only have a few minutes left to talk to him. Either way, when you say it, you are NOT allowed to touch the man in any way whatsoever.

I would not mention it in a way like "i love you" as some guys have a problem with this and you don't want your friend thinking you are gay as this could ruin your friendship. I would tell him that he is the most awesome friend and that you really appreciate everything he does for you.

As a female, my female friends and I tell one another that we love each other. And I do, I think of them as the sisters that I never had. I also tell my males friends that I love them, I love them just as my brothers. One male friend thinks it's cute when I tell him that I lovest him. He tells me the same thing and I'm perfectly ok with that, it's purely platonic.

I think it's ok, it may feel awkward because our society has taught men to deny their feelings.

Look at some of the European cultures....geez, seeing to Greek guys, or French guys....they'll hug, cry with each other....it's just alien to our perspective, because we were not raised under that openness with feelings. I think it's healthy, personally, but if it creeps the other guy out, then be sensitive to that.

i know alot of guys who arent gay and who will on occation tell each other that they love each other. it comes down to one question how good of friends are you. if you are sure your friend isnt going to get defensive then why not.

I'LL SAY THAT WITH JUST A SIMPLE TAP ON THE BACK. LIKE A BROTHERLY NUDGE. IF YOU HUG HIM, HE MIGHT GET THE WRONG IDEA. SO I GUESS IT'S OK!
