You are young therefore you have a thin mustache. In fact this is the young man's boon and lot of elders try to make their mustache thin to appear younger. Just do not worry , if you want to hasten your growth keep shaving off your mustache for a couple of months and thereafter your mustache will grow thicker , same thing with the case of beard also. You can also apply cod liver oil on your face which will increase the hair growth manifold.

I am unsure what your hair color is, but peroxide and dye of any color will enlarge the hair shaft by making it more porous. If you are blonde get an ash based 'cool' color for your hair at Sally's and use at least a 30% peroxide developer. If you are darker, choose a cool or neutral shade of brown (it will remain more natural looking even if have cool or warmer coloring), and mix with a 20% peroxide. Always choose a shade or two lighter than what you think you need and the color will appear natural. Anyone at Sally's Beauty supply can assist you. Do not use grocery store boxed colors. Good luck. My husband has been doing this for years since his beard is blonde and sparse. It also works on the hair on his head.
