When I accept gifts from my parents, they are definitely not free. My mom loves to make comments about how I don't appreciate her enough!

Your same thought went through my mind yesterday.
I saw a sign in a store that said "Sign Up For A FREE Prize!"

My only explanation is this: There are so many stupid people in this world, it has to be spelled out for the clueless.

depends on who's giving the gift i think. telemarketers tend to want money for their free gifts.
