try this java has bugs.
you need java for games,but not to open them,if you have microsoft VM. go to start button,settings,, control panel open internet options advance tab,scroll down to see if microsoft vm is there if so unclick the 2 java listed. Make sure JIT is checked, click apply then ok. close.this lets msn vm launch games. this will SPEED UP game loading time.if you don’t have msn VM,get it here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/ virtualserver/default.mspx

sounds like you know you have it installed
if you didn't a good place to get it is at
www.java.com

Next you need to make sure your browser knows it is allowed to use it. You do this by

click on Internet options
click the advanced sheet tab
scroll down to where it says enable java
make sure it is clicked

Once this is done you should be on your way again
