Well Dave here goes:
Spotting in the third week of the cycle is often implantation bleeding and looks exactly the way you described. She may have tested a little early (those early pregnancy tests can be tricky because you can never be 100% sure of when you ovulate) so I recommend she test again. She can test with a regular home preg test now and get pretty accurate results.
Best of luck to you!!

I've always been like your girlfriend when it comes to menstruating,i got my when i was 13 and ever since it's never been regular. As for the spotting she may be under a lot of stress have you asked her is she's stressed out that may cause that.I remember when i was her age i was having lots of sex and on top of that i was stressed at one point i didn't get my period for two months. I think you guys should give sex a rest and have her go see a doctor she may not be pregnant because a pregnancy test will show if she is or not. Stress is not good to a women. I hope i helped a little and take care.

hey dave.
the best thing to do is get another home pregnancy test and see how it comes up. keep in mind that if it is only a couple days late it might just be irregular. i know this is totally nerve-wracking, but everything will be ok, even though it seems so scary right now. just take things one step at a time. its good that you seem to be concerned not only with her period being late in terms of possible pregnancy, but also with her health in general. if you do the home pregnancy test and it comes up negative but she still doesn't get her period, go to a clinic and get a real pregnancy test. its just a simple blood test and they will be very kind. find out if there is a planned-parenthood near you or a number for one in the area. i know its difficult, but even if you're using the pull-out method, she should be on birth control. it will help regulate her periods, too, as well as pregnancy, which will regulate the scariness. but, you should be using condoms anyway. if you're really committed to oneanother, go together and get tested. good luck! i hope everything turns out ok. just take a deep breath, take it one step at a time, and support oneanother and remember there is a support system out there for you no matter what happens! i think it will be ok. cheers!

Your best bet is to go to the doctor and have a pregnancy test done. There is more than one cause of spotting mid-cycle. Especially for someone who is not always regular. I also suggest that if you don't want a baby then start using condoms right now until you find out for sure if she is pregnant. If she is not then you can look into other forms of birth control.

Sounds like a 50/50 chance she is. You probably won't get an accurate test til she is about a week late. Even then a blood test would probably be best.
Seek out Planned Parenthood. They can counsel you and give you the right answers.
Don't worry yourself sick. Worrying will not change the outcome of anything.

There is a very good chance she is pregnant. Ask her if her boobs are sore or her urination is darker and changing colors. Those are very good signs. Also, you can spot bleed thru your pregnancy. This is not uncommon. As for her cramps, that could be her body is trying to kick the pregnancy or simply something she ate. The best thing is to see a doctor.

I think you no the pull out method is no means for birth control and you also no that she could damn well be pregnant as well so you both need to start taking on a little responsibility for your actions use condoms and get her on the pill if you don't want a baby. A baby is not responsible for your carelessness seek some professional help on birth control please

yeah, and miscarriages are a lot more common than women think these days, so is a false positive. You guys need to go to Planned Parenthood tomorrow and get her tested, then get on birthcontrol!
