My trees have outgrown their pots and I don't want to loose the fruit.

liz n is right. But mostly because citrus tend to bloom in the late fall & winter. Give it a little HastaGro after repotting.

All good answers. If you wanted to, and your tree is small enough, you could also treat it as a bonsai tree. Simply cutting back the roots, and the foliage on the tree would allow you to repot this tree in the same pot. Should you so desire. But eitherway, your best time to do this is in the fall. And the sooner the better, as this would allow for your roots time to grow, and properly heal up.

the best time to repot a citrus tree is in the Fall, so that the roots would stay better during the winter and start growing in Spring.

I would repot them in the cooler months.
