My computer beeps and a small blue box comes out giving me a warning that my monitor is getting too hot. It happens every minute or so until I stop whatever it is that I'm doing. It has happened when I was playing a flash game and when I was saving a big file.

It says more information will be shown on the next start up but that never happens. My other computer's monitor doesn't do this, so I don't know why this does.

Does it not matter that it doesn't feel hot at all when I touch it?

Stop using your monitor unless you want to start an electric fire. I've seen monitors smoke up full rooms with nasty smoke. Buy a new monitor for god sake.

"the fan isn't making the irritating noise it commonly does" - it somewhat is the precedence. this suggests that the fan has failed (no longer works) and could favor to get replaced in case you want the computing gadget to paintings correct. Fan change isn't complicated, yet when uncertain about doing it your self, then you actually'll favor to take it to a keep.

you are at risk of frying your monitor. which can cause a fire and/or leave a big mess. get a classifieds ad paper and get a used one. or even look at a thrift shop, even look on ebay for ones within a few miles of your house. they have some pretty cheap on there and you can contact the seller before you bid and see if you could pick it up to save on shipping costs, sometimes they have one. either way, you need a new one.

Simply trying to turn off that warning without finding out the root cause is like giving a patient with a brain tumor, an asprin. It may relieve the symptoms, but the patient (or your monitor) will soon die.

Get a new monitor. If you keep using it, you're putting a risk to yourself and anyone and/or anything in your house.

Take it in to get fixed or replace it before it starts a fire.
