A few years ago the Saints had such a good road record (7-1, I think) that they started wearing their road -- white -- jerseys at home so that they would keep winning games. For a while, there were only a few teams that always wore white as the home jersey and only wore the color if playing against another white-jersey home team. Now there are a few more.

Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, maybe Miami Dolphins.

Sometimes the home team picks the white jerseys just because they're not as hot as the dark jersey. The Ravens and Chiefs have both done this in the past few weeks. That wouldn't matter in the air-conditioned Superdome.

Yes, the home team has its choice of jersey colors, and then the road team must wear the opposite.

Most teams wear their dark jerseys at home.

I remember that the Dallas Cowboys, back when they were a really great team, always chose to wear their white uniforms at home. And since most other teams wore dark jerseys at home, this meant that the Cowboys also got to wear their "home" light-colored uniforms on the road as well, and they were always more comfortable doing this.

But every now and then, an opponent would elect to wear their light colored jerseys at home against Dallas, forcing the Cowboys to wear their dark uniforms, and the Cowboys always hated it when that happened. The Cowpokes always preferred their white jerseys, and felt uncomfortable in the dark uniforms.

The majority of the time the home team in the NFL wears their dark jerseys. This is not a hard and fast rule though. The home team has the choice of what uniform they wear and the visitors have to comply.

Looking at a couple of pictures on the ESPN website - it looks like in the NFL the home team wears their white jersey.

I think in the NBA, the home team wears their dark jersey, and in baseball, I think the home team wears the white jersey.
