I always have this problem of running my hurldes too high..how do I help with that? It really slows me down, and if I could correct that, I would be able to do so much better...

Since the only time you're accelerating is when your are contacting the ground in a race, the idea is to spend as little time in the air as possible. Possibly, you need some more flexibility. Suggest that you do many "hurdler's exercises" on the ground during warm-ups:
Get into the position on the ground as you would be going over a hurdle; you know, right leg back, left leg extended and reach with your arm to touch your toe. Then do the same with the opposite leg. Repeat.
Take it easy at first, you don't want to pull a muscle doing this.
Also, watch some races with world class hurdlers. You'll notice that their head stays about the same height above the ground throughout the race!

practice on the hurdle on click lower then your race height is. this should keep you lower and closer to the hurdle and then in your race you should be able to think of the hurlde on the lower height and your body should think i only have to jump so high making you closer to a higher hurdle
