why is it SUCH a taboo to ride a city bus!?
HONEST TO heavens what are you afraid of?
unless you ride the night shift or live in iraq you have nothing to fear. Just get on and get off.

I used to ride the city bus all the time, to get to school. It was great fun. I even took my girls for a ride on the city bus and they loved it. They often ask if we can do it again (the older ones in particular love them). Once you get to know the drivers for your route it becomes nicer. Also, my sister-in-law rides the bus to work. We both agree riding the bus is so much easier, no looking for and paying for parking, get to read (or in my case look around with the girls). Great exercise getting from home or work to the bus stop (I used to get off several stops before the one I actually needed so I could walk more). In high school, was a great way to get more studying in. I now live where there isn't any public transportation and very few sidewalks (so walking isn't safe with children) and I miss it.

Here it's more like the village bus but I ride the bus here every weekday and when I was in a major city I rode the bus all the time. It's actually relaxing for me. I stay alert to those around me but I can read or daydream and not have to keep watching the road.

i might tension a city bus so if somebody grow to be being a butthole i could provide up and positioned them off the bus. regrettably i may well be fired if I did that to the college little ones. i might sparkling the dwelling house windows approximately two times an afternoon and that i might confer with human beings and tell all of them approximately my foster toddler that I have been given whilst his mom went to shack up with some guy in Texas. Wanna see his photograph? he's finding stable in his little Wranglers!

I ride the bus, quite a bit actually, because I can't afford all the extra expenses that come with having a car where I live (insurance and parking are a racket locally).
And frankly. :( I think public transit gets a HUGE bad reputation from folks who are looking for excuses to be bigoted, ok?
Get this: I've had mall brats on the damned bus tell me "you stink" (but never to my face, always talking their smack behind my back), when *I know for a FACT* that I used soap, deodorant, toothpaste and mouthwash (twice sometimes!), have clean clothes on, and did everything right. :( This whole "you stink" business has NOTHING to do with reality 90% of the time, and everything to do with people looking for a convenient out, an *excuse* to attack and disrespect people for "being poor" or looking ugly or whatever....
And in case you wanted to know....I'm Caucasian. My birth certificate says I am white, honest. I'm just a guy, yeah, I am a bit poor and a bit overweight. Not obese though and not totally (or even remotely) unhygienic. :( But the minute I run errands on a bus, *some people* want to treat me like a bum.
When I pay fare and paid my taxes to fund the damn system just like anyone else. WTF??
Ok, maybe I had just best chill...but hopefully at least one of you sees my point. There is another side to this whole "Eeeewww, you have to ride the *bus*, like oh noooo...." business. For every one of you who holds their nose up and *pretends* people stink because it is a PC way to insult folks, there are folks like me who get insulted, sometimes even *gets crap sprayed on him* by these damn idiot mall brats, just out of their spitefulness.
There's at least two sides to this.
But it's okay. At least I'm not spending one red cent on *gasoline* and funding who knows what with Big Oil and Saudi Arabia and who knows *who else*? :P Nyeah!

Yep. Sit near the front. The drivers don't take any sh*t from the freaks on the bus. Plus the freaks aren't around during rush hour times.
I don't like it cuz it takes so much longer, but its nice to get some reading done.
