It is best to ask your baby's pediatrician as he/she will be the one with a knowledge of your baby's health, allergies and/or any medical problems. In general, at 7 months, either formula (recommended by the pediatrician) or breast milk is OK, along with supplementation with baby food. It is best to start with a commercial product. Usually fruits and veggies are introduced first, one at a time, to make sure there is no allergy problem. These can include baby food peas, beans, carrots, spinach etc. Fruits may include apple sauce, bananas, pears, peaches, sweet potato etc. Rice is a good grain cereal to start. Oatmeal can be used. If you like non-vegetarian, chicken or turkey baby food can be tried. As always, if there is any doubt, always consult with your pediatrician, especially before starting babies on table food.

You can still use Formula or Breast milk, but if that does not satisfy their appetite, you can start with baby food such as rice cereal, vegetables and fruits. Absolutely no honey, peanut butter, or real milk yet.

When you start them on baby food, try the vegetables first and let them get used to that. Then try the fruits. If start with fruits first it is hard to get them to eat vegetables because they get used to the sweetness.
