I just read a question asking how man kids are too many to have, it reminded me of this family that is periodically documented on the Discovery channel. Have you ever heard of the Duggar family? They have like 16 kids and will keep having more. I love kids and everything, I want at least 2 or three more, but I think that once you get well into the double didgets this day in age it seems to become a little creepy. What are your thoughts?

What is amazing (and kind of creepy to me) is that Mrs. Duggar has been pregnant for virtually 17 to 18 years of her life, I couldn't do that!

The small town I used to live in has a family with 15 kids(last I knew) and I don't think they are done. All of the kids are home schooled and they have their own candle-making business. I have 3 kids and my hubby is from a family of 12. I can barely handle my 3 some days! Don't know how or why anyone would want that many these days. I know why they had large families in the old days, to help on the farms and such. But now?

I don't think it is the number you have it is where they come from. I have 3 boys and am trying to have a fourth, a girl hopefully. And we want more, but after that we want to adopt. We should adopt now, but I am pregnant already. I watched a show that the woman had 24 children...but they were all handicapped teens that noone would adopt. There are hundreds of thousands if not millions of children abused and neglected, why not adopt them instead of bringing 16 more into the world. I should follow my own advice huh! Woman in Romania are selling their children to make money, save a few dozen of them. Just my personal opinon.

Some people just like having big families it may be because when they were young they might not have too many siblings around them. But personally I think that if they have the money and time for a lot of children. Go right ahead.

Some people maybe are blessed with the patience and monitary ability to raise more. We all have a purpose. I bet, that is a close family that shares alot of love. Those of us that grew up with no siblings at home, might kind of like the idea.
But that being said. I have three and that is plenty for me. Love them to death but I am done with pregnancy.

I've heard of them. It's certainly different but I guess to everyone his own. I don't guess there's anything wrong with it. If they can support the family then go for it. It's just not my style.

I think it is irresponsible. How can these parents possibly have time to address the individual needs of each of these children? Those poor children.
