I've been feeling down lately and I've been trying to explain it to my friend:

I think that I am a failure as a woman because all the things that I am good at are unattractive qualities for a woman to have. I'm smart, strong, physical, brave and opinionated. Nobody wants to know a woman who is like that. Women in our society are supposed to be pretty, gentle, sociable, motherly and fluffy headed. Our society doesn't have room in it for women like me. Am I right?

Either you have people around you who are jealous of your qualities or your not in the right place to use them, I'm smart, a very strong women in mind, I'm also brave and opinionated and I see nothing wrong with been like that, I have as much right to my opinions as the next person does, I am sure you are also pretty and have a soft side to, let those who want to be fluffy headed be like that and you carry on been like you are, you don't have anything to worry about or to apologise for either.

no, you are so wrong luv, I too am like you, I have a hubby who appreciates me and my children and friends do too. Sometimes I wish I could look pretty and gentle and fluffy headed but you know what? I don't have time for all that!! I am far too busy getting on with life and people to be empty headed, stay as you are, society needs you!!!!

I hate people who say that kind of stuff. God doesn't like it when people say stuff like that and who don't have a good self esteem. My motto is: "Everything Has Beauty But Not Everyone Sees It." You are beautiful and I know it. You know it. And everyone else in this planet and this universe knows it. Don't beat yourself up for something that someone has said or done to you. You are wrong. Fraid not love. I want a woman who is my equal, not a push over. I want to be able to talk to her about thnigs that actually matter and for her to be able to make up her own mind on what she thinks, not just agree with me or whoever she happens to be talking to.

you are NOT a failiure! don't let the media or a bunch of guys who would rather be seen with some super model media clone tell you what you should be. there are far too many people who have given away their souls so they can pretend to be something they are not. regardless of whatever faith you may be, you must still be your self, whatever god, ideaolagy, or principles you follow you must never give up who you are.
