Well it's not a good thing, if it's truly borderline, you could probably make some life changes and reduce your blood pressure to normal. Walking, moderate to mild use of salt, drinking plenty of water. If over weight, even a 10lb., weight loss would help improve blood pressure. Meditation, taking a few minutes a day just for yourself and practice relaxation measures. You want to take action now, to avoid medication in future and further health problems.

Systolic pressure is the pressure of blood against the artery walls when the heart has just finished contracting or pumping out blood. (Diastolic pressure is the pressure of blood against the artery walls between heartbeats, when the heart is relaxed and filling with blood.)

Systolic blood pressure is the upper number of a blood pressure reading. For example, if a person's systolic pressure is 120 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) and the diastolic pressure is 80 mm Hg, blood pressure is recorded as 120/80 and read as "120 over 80. This is considered average.

Both are important because the more pressure used to pump blood to and from the heart the more over worked the heart is and the more likely you will develop heart disease.

Not really; just check it now and then in case it gets into the bad area. You are talking about high blood pressure, right? If it is borderline low, it isn't dangerous but you might feel better if you brought it up a bit.
