I don't get it. Why aren't they ashamed of themselves? Are they really thinking this is 1950?

I have an Af-American co-worker, well educated, who has a very mainstream accent. She has had phone conversations with customers who assume she is white and say racist things.

I'm incredibly embarrassed by this behavior from other whites. Is this happening to anyone else??

I am actually extreamly ashamed to admit that even my own family members do this around me and it makes me so mad that I just want to scream out at them WHAT GIVES YOU THE BA**S to think God picked you to be the choosen one to be superior
to any one else . I hardly ever use the word HATE but one thing I
do hate is this kind of behavior .

There are still some racist people in the world, unfortunately. Honestly, why can't we all just get along. The world could be a better place.

I was having this conversation with someone the other day. Yes, it has happened to both of us. I'm more grossed out than embarrassed though. I find it offensive and ignorant.

Yes dear...it happens to me as well. I think they actually feel that since you're of the same skin colour that you will understand. I detest racism in any form & say so. :)

I rarely hear any race comments. Either you are way in tune to this or live in an area with race problems.

No because most of my friends are from other races, so it pretty much goes without saying that I'm not racist myself.
