Writing my memoirs for my grandchildren, to show them I'm not so perfect as they think I am, and to prove to them one can make mistakes without guilt, and be foolish yet survive. I'm up to age 26, with 50 years to go, and already they're as big as "War and Peace" - I kid you not! It's been a good life with luck and useful lessons, worth the bumps. Sadly, I think my generation had the best of it, though we believed there was better to come, in spite of the Depression, World War 11, The Bomb and the Cold War over our heads. We thought people would learn from all that. But that was before Bush and Co, global warming, and the environmental destruction and other disasters we fought so unsuccessfully (some of us!). I just hope my own memoirs might help the kids to survive what is to come.
