This is a tough one to answer when I don't know your body type or your coloring. I disagree with the black suit advice....too severe and unapproachable. I would recommend a well-structured jacket that suits your body type. Depending on your skin tones, navy blue for cool tones and chocolate or deep tan for warm tones. I would not recommend any bright colors in any accessories, they will distract the attention from your face. Most of all, be well groomed and keep it conservative. Hosiery is a must as are closed-toe, low-heeled shoes. No short skirts, keep the length at, or just below the knee. NO SLACKS! I don't care how well they fit, they do not give a professional impression. Save them for after you've landed the job. Keep the make-up to a minimum, and no perfume. You have no way of knowing if the interviewer has allergies or phobias....why take the chance? Bathe with a lightly scented body wash if you feel a need for perfumery. Besides, you want the lasting impression to be about your qualifications, not your perfume.

Body language is also important, do not cross your legs......imparts too much familiarity. Do not cross your arms in front of your chest.....visually tells the world you're shutting them out. Keep your knees and ankles together or cross your legs at the ankles, if you must. Lean toward the interviewer and always, always look them in the eye.

Good luck to you. Just an FYI.....I counsel people on how to successfully interview.

Wear a suit in a dark color, pref. blue or black, with a solid and vibrantly colored top underneath, nothing lacy or over-exposed, or a sheath dress with a blazer over it or, if the sheath is sleeveless, a white cotton Oxford shirt underneath, with heels (pumps in a solid color). Have hair pulled back in a low ponytail or the top back with a solid silver or gold barrette. Down is also ok if your hair isn't overly big or frizzy. Make-up needs to be minimal. Pantyhose are a must. The only jewelry needs to be watch in gold or silver or a leather band in brown, black or navy, wedding bands and small stud earrings.

Go to a penny's and buy a black suit with black flat bottom shoes, be sure to wear panty hose and be sure to make your hair look nice and your make up too. It is important to look professional, and not cheap. I have a black suit that I wear and a colored dressy tank top underneath as well as nice shoes. My hair is done simply and professionally.

A conservative suit would be best, with good quality leather shoes and purse, only jewelry needed are a watch, small post earrings (if your ears are pierced) and wedding ring - if you have one.

My favorite store, Talbot's, just started a sale yesterday. Let me pick something, for you.

The jacket

A flared skirt

A pencil skirt - Hot fashion for fall!

flared-leg pants - if you get the job and want more options

This jacket will be flattering to most body types, you choose which skirt will flatter your figure. The slacks are an option for if you get the job. I would buy them now, to ensure you get the matching color, you can return them later if they are not needed, Talbot's has a generous return policy. Their shipping charges are a bit pricey, so if you can get to a store, do so, if store does not have your size and chosen color, (for interview I think navy would be best but any of them would be fine, you pick) you can order from catalog while at a store and shipping is only $6.

Two blouse options, first is a stripe and on sale, both are wrinkle-resistant. Once you try wrinkle resistant you will love it - I have 15 of them.

Look at the shoes and purses they show at the site, use them for an idea on style. But I would suggest you buy your shoes at least, locally so you can try them on for a most comfortable fit.

Good Luck on your interview! I have interview tips too if you want them. but that is another long post lol.

Just buy a dress suit blazer blouse and a line skirt. browns and pinks are good
perhaps some low heel shoes go professional

A simple black pencil skirt and a suit top would look impressive, black pump heels and fix up your hair, you'll look more professional. ^__^
Good luck!
