Keep in mind two things. I can speak from personal experience on this one. My parents call me by my middle name. Plus my middle and last names each have about 12 different spellings. I've gone through life explaining that I go by my middle name and having to spell out my name for everybody. It was always misspelled in school, in the yearbooks, in the newspaper, on my baseball team jerseys, nearly everything. that sucks for a kid to have to go through.

Secondly, A cute or trendy baby name might not fit so well when baby grows up and has to be taken seriously in the real world. I worked with Billy Kidd, Rhett Butler, and Strawberry Fields. I kid you not.

Well... whatever you name your child make sure that the initials don't spell a word... like Denver Ogden Grable... cuz everyone will call him DOG... and you want to check out the "nicknames" that go with certain names. Most people have a double syllable first name and single syllable middle name... others are reversed (single/double). Name him/her after someone you care about - it is more interesting to tell your kid the story of how they got their name (I was named after my great-aunt and my mom's favorite teacher). And, the last thing...stand at your back door and holler the name you've chosen... if you've picked a good one, you'll be able to call/yell to your kid when he is at the neighbor's hosue with gusto.
