Why yes we can. Or at least those of us who choose to use those labels. I've been married to my Best Beloved for the last 26 years and she takes the more male role in our relationship, therefor she is the husband. I get called her "little wife" and I like it. It makes me smile. Whether or not you like it is not in question. It's between my Best Beloved and I. You, my Dear One, are outside the periphery. Blessings.

Hi,
I am a lesbian (really I am) and I actually do call my self a lesbo when I am in lesbian company or having fun or whatever. I hate it when straight people say it because it is an attack. The first really sexist attack I remember is when I was 7 and this kid called me a lesbo for some reason. Who knows why? Anyway, when I talk about safe sex I call myself the 'lesbo safe-sex fairy' because you gotta have fun while promoting healthy sexuality.

If queers can call themselves queer (which annoys the heck out of me) then I can use the word lesbo. But straight jerks can't . So don't do it straight jerk.

That is the only interesting thing to say about your question because I am actually responding to the other gay folks/queers/dykes/lezzies and lesbians who responded to you.

your question is stupid really. what are you really asking. who cares?

PRACTISE SAFE SEX.
ITS FUN.
IT SAVES LIVES.
~peace

Well, I'm not gay, although I participate in "gay sex".....I am bisexual and yes I love to have sex with men....something my wife doesn't know about. I have been having a bisexual affair with my boyfriend for 2 years....I had a bisexual experience when I was 19 and never had sex with men again until I was 39....I found out my wife had cheated on me and I decided to find out if I was really bisexual....I found an old friend that I had went to school with and ended up being his w.h.o.r.e. that night and it all just felt right....not the same as with my wife, but it did feel right.

Please do not use the derogatory term "lesbos," it's demeaning and rude.

In answer to your question. YES, many of our community have been married to an opposite gender partner. Usually prior to "coming out." Some do so in an attempt to deny their orientation or to "self cure" their sexuality.
These attempts usually end up in divorce, as mine did. Some BECAUSE they come out while married, some only face their orientation after the end of their marriage.
Some still choose to remain married. This happens for a myriad of reasons. Some to protect the children, some because they actually do love each other, but never sleep with each other, some because both partners want to have children in the future.

There are many reasons why gays/lesbians marry someone of the opposite gender. But it does happen.

Firstly, I agree with the first comment. Don't call us lesbos, we don't call you breeders.
Secondly, stupid question. ANYBODY in this world can marry ANYBODY of the opposite sex. COOL, isn't it? That's why the divorce rate is skyhigh and marraige is a joke. And then it's the same people who fight for the preservation of the 'sanctity' of marraige! Any homosexual with nothing to do on a Saturday morning can marry someone of the opposite sex. A ring doesn't close a hole.... it just gives it more compression.

If you are referring to two men together, no. They are both considered the groom and are husbands.

If you are also referring to two women, no. Lesbians have wives.

If you mean can they discover their true sexuality late in life, and be married, then yes they can.

FYI-Lesbos is a Greek Isle, not a term to describe lesbians.

Hey, dude. Lesbos is an island, so I guess it can't have husbands.

Oh... You mean can gay people get married?

Not in the U.S.

Or do you mean can they marry the opposite sex?

I guess if they ask for permission and ask really nice, maybe.

They have and they do ...its not that unusual for many to marry young and then find they would rather be happy and gay and separate and divorce ,we know many many gay married people its not unusual, what is sad is the ones that are too frightened to leave a marriage and go on cheating on wives ect is so unfair to the partners in the long-run.

Lesbians and gay men have had in the past, present and future; wives and husbands. It's a side-affect of prejudices and bigotry from the society we live in.

Here's something interesting for you to ponder.
I am an open lesbian who was engaged to an open gay male!
Therefore, to answer BOTH of your questions.... it is feasible.
Some gay men marry women to "hide" their sexuality as do some lesbian women marry men to "hide" their true inner-self.

OH! Most Lesbians, especially myself, don't like the term "LESBO". Its not PC or Politically Correct!!!!
