Bait and switch the topic of conversation which has the other person agitated and redirect it to a happier subject; or tell them what they want to hear so they'll go away. If it's your husband, though, forget it. Just walk away til he's in a better mood.

if they're your family members or colleague which you meet on a regular basis then you better advice them diplomatically so as not to hurt their ego at the same time you could show them the benefits of having a postive attitude .it might motivate them to change themselves .

by the way what about you pal ? are you positive ? don't those people you're talking about critisize you for bad attitude.if its so then its different matter . ha ha .

try changing your personality ,speech, body language ,and above all your own attitude.learn to be diplomatic and learn the basic skills of tactfullness or you'll be inviting more and more stress on a daily basis .

try dale carnegie 's how to win friends and influence people .this might work as an antidote to all your problems .but you need to apply once you read. ok ? not just reading .bye

Don't give them bad attitude in return. Maybe this person just needs help. if you care about them try to help. if you don't - just let it go, don't get into arguments, 'cause it pointless if a person has a bad attitude and doesn't want to do anything about it.

People with bad attitudes are really easy to handle!

Ignore them and say no-thing.....MUM, is the word.

That leaves them holding the bag for all to see!!

Have a great day!

Everyone here is wrong. Shower this person with kindness! Clearly this person gains something from making others feel uncomfortable. Turn the tables, and maybe he will see that being negative won't work on you. Then, he might just be a little kinder to you...if not, you'll know you were the bigger person.

Ignore them and live your life. If you try to prove anything, it just makes you more upset. Maybe you should go away somewhere for a while, come back and be stronger.
If they keep giving you hell, ask your friends to give them lessons, you need a campaign! Maybe he or she should be thrown egg at every day for a week.

Ignore them the best you can... most of the time they do it for attention... their unhappy and want to make everyone around them unhappy... most are spoiled and can stand not getting their way and they tend to be critical of others... but not htemselves.... does this sound like someone you want to be around... not me!!
Go on your merry way and be happy when they see what their doing is not effecting you... they may shape up... Good luck!!!

The best way is to give them the same attitude right back. They dont expect it and its the only thing they will respect.
