Go to the pet store and get some kitten or puppy milk replacer(get the powder so it won't go to waste).Mix as directed. To feed it dip a Q-tip,or a piece of dry bread in the formula and let the baby suck the formula off. Feed it until it's tummy looks round, but not huge.I would feed it every two or three hours. As it grows, soften some commercial mouse food(pellets) with the milk and offer it .Soon it will have teeth and you can put it on a regular mouse food, along with seeds ,nuts, cheerios, and small amounts of fruit and greens. Also remember to keep it warm, but not too hot,you don't want to cook it.Good luck. Oh,you will also have to massage it's belly and bottom with a warm ,damp cotton ball after feeding to stimulate it to urinate and defecate. This is very important until it is old enough to go on it's own.To keep it warm, line a shoebox with warmcloths(flannel is good,or wool).Put a heating pad under half of the box,so the baby can move away from the heat if it gets too warm.set the pad on low.Put a small stuffed animal(like a Beany baby,). in the box for the baby to snuggle with.If you type in :care of orphaned mice, on your computer ,it will tell you everything;there are lots of web sites on it.

Once you have picked it up the mother will no longer accept it back. You are the new caretaker. It is tough. You need a cage where it can't get out or nothing can get in. A heating pad under a towel with some shrubbery and ,ake sure it can't get right on the heating pad, directly. Keep it on med. You will need to go get kitten's dry milk formula that you can get a pet store. It will need to be fed every 3-4 hours. If you don'y notice it going to the bathroom. Gently rub its tummy with a little bit of warm water. It can be tiring if you can't handle it please give it to a wild life preserve. I know it sounds crazy but they will handle it from there. i have done this on many occassions for mice, rats, squirrels and such. Good Luck!!!

I dont want to be negative but I have tried to rescue mice before and they are very hard, this is what you do.
1. First you need to keep him warm but not to warm. If you have a heating pad keep it on ow temerature and set the shobox ontop of it.
2. Sorry went out of order. Get a shoe box and outline it with a towall and rip up pices of tollit paper to surround him in. Since he is alone you want him to feel like he has the closeness of other baby mice.
3. Everyone wants to look at him and touch him but dont let them. Put your baby in your closet or under the bed or a dark place, even though he is in a dark shoe box. Only take him out during his feedings which need to be every two hours.
4. The best thing to feed them is Pedealite, you can get that at the grochery store. Dont use human formula or that will kill him beacse it is too strong for a baby mouse. You dont have to warm it up as long as it's room temerature.
5.I used a thick needle I got from my dads doctors office and cut the tip off but if you dont have access to that then you can dip a napkin or paper towal in the Pedialite and try to get him to suck from that. Baby mice wont eat if they are cold are if it's too bright so feed him in a warm dark area or just a dark area that is warm.
6. After you feed him you need to wash his body off with a warm damp cloth. This will stimulate him to go to the bathroom, if you dont do this he will die.
Good Luck

Are you sure its a mouse or is it a rat? don't make any difference cause if you take it to almost any pet store they will put it in with a mom mouse or rat that has babies close to that size and 99% of the time they will take care of them. Most pet stores usually will have both that do have babies. good luck its very hard to take care of little ones unless you have lots of time and patience.

Well if he isn't walking much I would do a dropper like you would a new born for about 5 days then put him on mice food. He is almost there to be weaned. So not to worry to much. But he would be starting to chew on food but not 100% yet. But I would treat him as a pinky for now.
