I would say no, it is not. The subframe is what holds your engine, transmission, steering assembly, and front suspension in place. Any damage to the subframe, depending on how severe, could be very dangerous. If the damage is severe, it could be life threatening. You did not specify what exactly is wrong.

When a sub frame is damage and needs replacement , Its not good to drive it, there are several reason why,
1) It will effect the steering (possibly be unsafe)
2) It will cause the front tires to ware excessive
3) The loss of control is also possible, Its recommended don't drive
If you purchased the car with a bent frame you may have some legal rights and should contact an attorney, Good luck and GOD Bless,

Just exactly how is it that you think you need your subframe replaced? It's not something that you replace. It's a massive part of the car. It's not like a dead battery or a flat tire. I am officially questioning the validity of your question until you provide some concrete information.

No... But if you have your talking about a Chevy Impalla,You may just need control arm bushings. These are going bad alot on these vehicles and shops are trying to sell customers whole sub frames to fix the problem. Am I right? Are you talking about a Chevy Impala?

NO it is NOT safe.
Your subframe could fail and you could have and accident and be killed or worse kill someone else.

Drive responsibly and don't take chances with your life.

keep searching! If it were effortless and or less expensive to do, do not you imagine he might want to have already performed it? looking one might want to be the first hurdle, then setting up might want to value a minimum of a grand.
