I am looking for a good allergy medicine that don't cause drowsiness. I take Benedryl Syrup, which is a chidren's medicine, and it causes drowsiness, and I can't take any medicine that causes drowsiness in the day time since I drive taxi, and I don't feel comfortable taking the medicine before I go to work. Is there another medicine that does NOT cause drowsiness? Allergy season is hear, and my allegies are very bad at this time of year. Any Ideas?

Common name is Claritin, generic is Loretadine....one tiny pill once a day!

This may sound funny but it works! I have really bad allergies, when I was tested to determine what I was allergic to, the doctor told my parents that I am allergic to life. The best medicine I found was to use raw honey that has been harvested locally. The honey contains pollen from the local flora and helps you build up a tolerance. This, believe it or not, really does desensitizes you and is a lot less painful and cheaper than the shots.

A good non-drowsy allergy medicine is "Claritin". My mom has tried it a few times and even took it during her working hours, and she says its great. It's mainly available in capsule form, I don't know if you can find a syrup for this one. You can get more info from its website: www.claritin.com

If you want an over the counter medicine take Claritin. But i take a prescription of Flonase and Allegra and that works good for me. Go to the doctor and you will get some great allergy meds that wont make you drowsy one bit!!

Alavert or Claritin - look for allergy packages that say daytime, or will not cause drowsiness.
