Let's pretend that you will be dictator of the U.S. for a day, and any law you make can never be revoked. So think carefully because 50 years from now, the laws you pass will still be in effect. You can only be dictator for one day only and cannot extend your rule, but otherwise, any law you make will take effect permanently

What laws would you make here in the U.S. and why?

Extending this question for longer, come on, someone can come up with a better reason to be dictator for the day!!

I would make all the government officials who spend the taxpayers hard earned cash become responsible and make it a law that the thieves pay back all that they are pulling out of us via under the table deals and contracts and expense accounts. It would be a law that all representatives and those in the government would be accountable for ANY misappropriation of funds or misuse of their position and be dropped out WITHOUT their exhorbitant pension plans that they all seem to land for the rest of their lives. We as taxpayers steal a loaf of bread we do time---these people steal a million they get a pension as well as a pardon, and not to mention the tax breaks they get too. I would end it all for the theivery of the appointed, the voted as well as those employed by us in government.

I would force Israel and Hamas to sit down at the bargaining table and not get up until they hammered out an agreement accepting the Palestinians right to self determination and a separate state and Israel's right to live peacefully within its pre1967 borders.
Wjy? Simply because Israel and the majority of countries in the Middle East have been at loggerheads and fighting with one another since l948. Isn't it about time, that all that hatried was put to rest and that the people involved could come to a lasting agreement.

No one person is allowed to amass a fortune that exceeds 10 billion.
Every citizen will have the right to a place to live and food to eat. Homelessness is to be eradicated.
Food will no longer be allowed as a stock market commodity.
All farmers will be given free land and free equipment to provide food for everyone.
Medical rates will have a limit so that anyone can afford to have their health needs addressed.
Non violent criminals will be released from prisons and made to serve their time in rehabilitation and educational facilities. Putting someone in prison for smoking marijuana is a crime in itself.
Border security will become high priority at any cost.
Education will become free for all those who want to achieve academic success.
Minimum wage will be increased to $10 per hour.
Restraints will be placed on the wealthy in order to control greed.
The money that is surplussed from the wealthy will be used to fix roads, build schools, build homes for the homeless, and provide basic necessities for the poor.
I guess that's enough for one day!

You need to take a basic test in order to vote. Simple questions about the government's practices, economics, the current candidates positions and why liberalism doesn't work.

All those that fail are deported, starting with Alek Baldwin.

I would re-establish Federalism, take away the amendment allowing direct voting for senators and return it to the state legislatures.
