Autumn
Close your eyes, picture falling leaves
A sky the colour of carbon steel
Wool caps and socks, shirts with long sleeves
The fuzzy way flannel jammies feel
Imagine hot cocoa, spiced pumpkin pie
A whiff of woodfire on the air
A southbound flock says its goodbye
A cold wind playfully tussles your hair
Taste yams, and squash, and roasted pork
Or maple, nature’s sticky, sweet treat
A bite of baked apple poised on your fork
With cinnamon and cloves, all good things to eat
On each stoop a jack-o-lantern stands guard
Ghosts and ghoulies roam the night
Rains pelt down both blustery and hard
But nothing here to cause you fright
With sunset colours the trees are ablaze
Orange buses rumble at every turn
School corridors are a happy, chatty maze
Eager children clamouring to learn
These memories wrap round us like a cozy shawl
All the warm, wondrous forms summer’s end takes
And the very best thing of all in the Fall
Is anticipating those first few snowflakes!

sweet dreams dont let the bed bugs bite, if they do sqeeeeeeeze them tight and they wont come back tomorrow night, sweet dreams and good night.
