Invaded a country that was not a threat based on lies. Tortured prisoners. Held prisoners without charges or without access to an attorney. Raped young girls. Murdered citizens of the country invaded.

Nazi Germany? China? The Soviet Union? No, Bush's America.

Welcome to the Dark Side.

As each day passes, it becomes harder to be proud to be an American citizen.

We used to be a guiding light to the world. Now, thanks to that fool in the White House and his gutless Republican enablers, our standing in the world is shot and I have to be ashamed of the things my government does.

Are you telling me Nazi Germany didn't do that? I'm pretty sure they didn't provide lawyers for any of the Jews they murdered. Oh, and they probably murdered a few Poles, French, and Russians. And they lied about the superiority of the Aryan race. And They CERTAINLY tortured prisoners. I'd bet they raped plenty of young girls too.

Also, at least some of the stuff you said applies to the Soviet Union, Japan, Italy, Vietnam, and more too. If you think we're the only Dark Ones, you obviously don't know sh!t about history.

What country does this sound like. Group of thugs breaks into a house and beats five people to death with baseball bats, missing girl's body found buried on moms property she was buried alive in a garbage bag after being sexually battered, cop pulls over a car on routine traffic stop, one cop killed one injured, hurricane threatens major coastal city, mayor does not order evacuation hundreds die hundred missing, family of five driving home from vacation tire blows out causing vehicle to flip four times three children thrown from vehicle all occupants die.
Bad things happen everyday, everywhere.
We are there, blame the congress, not Bush
What about the civilians that are being tortured and murdered in the country you are speaking of. Don't we have an obligation now to help protect those citizens from themselves. They are now killing each other in case you haven't noticed. Why is Bashing our president so much more important than stabilizing that country? Why is bashing the military so much more important than supporting them and helping them to show what a great nation of peaceful people we really have. You profess to be so peaceful and concerned, are you planning to volunteer with a church group or humanitarian agency to go over there and promote peace and good will towards those people? Do you spend time in your own community promoting good will towards your neighbors and others in the community> Stop bashing people when you don't even live up to the things you claim they don't live up to. That is called a hypocrite
Oh, the country mentioned in the opening paragraph is the US.
People complain that our standing in the world is diminished because of our presence in Iraq. I beg to differ. The countries that have appreciated America in the past, will continue to appreciate us in the future. The people in those other countries are not as shallow as many Americans are. Americans switch sides faster than the French do. If your team ain't winning this year, you'll pick another favorite before the Superbowl. Ironically, the military that you bash and call baby killers are the one who will help to bolster and rekindle the respect that America has earned over the years. The folks in uniform will be the ones who visit different countries and donate time to building schools, visiting orphanages at Christmas time, spend time visiting tourist sites and appreciating the heritages and history of the host countries. How about looking at the things that your friends and neighbors do, when they aren't doing the tough jobs. To discredit and besmirch them without knowing what they are really like is just wrong and very immature.

You are highly intelligent and highly sophisticated. Let me ask you this:

There were 1,000,000 innocent civilians killed in the Korean War. Would you prefer the South Korean people live under Kim Jong Il? Just think of all the lives that would have been saved if evil America had not fought that war against a country that posed no threat to us.

Yes, sadly, welcome to the world.

There is no country where you can go in the world where these things do not happen... but I guess the cost of living in a free society is that these things are so much more apparent to us, and it's so much more obvious because we can see it clearly for what it is, and not be fooled by mindless, blatant lies and propaganda given to us by the media.
