Just want to make sure I'm not breaking any rules -- but it can't really be considered any different from telling someone about the company face-to-face, right?

It is a violation. Call the company and ask them. If they find out, you are terminated.

Not only that, but you are not in Quixtar. You have an independent business affiliated with Quixtar. Speaking the way you do is inaccurate.

If you're talking about Quixtar rules, it depends what you mean by "advertise". You can certainly "meet" people, talk to them, and explain what you are doing, but if you say posted up a link with your IBO number, that would be a no-no
